Why You Must Work On Yourself First To Allow Your Business To Grow
Hey guys. Chris Lynton here. In this video I'm going to talk to you about why it is absolutely critical to work on yourself to be able to work on your business or see your business grow.
Now a lot of people that I speak to have phenomenal business practises, systems, so on and so forth in place. They come to me and go, "Chris, I've had a great business and I got it onto a certain level, but time and time again, month in, month out, it never seems to get above that number. Maybe it goes slightly above and then slightly below, then slightly above again, then slightly below, but it always generally sticks around this certain level." Guys, this is quite a philosophical view of it, but it is, time and time again, such a true thing. You can see this in any business, any business owner will tell you the same things.
Now, your business is a reflection of yourself, everything that happens within your business. The type of clients you have are generally the type of client that you are to your mentor, your coaches, or whatever it might be. The type of services that you deliver, the pricing you charge is generally a reflection of what you believe you are worth. I'm going to repeat this, it's an important one. The prices that you charge and you are confident charging people is not actually what you're worth. It is not what your client thinks you're worth. It is generally what you yourself think you're worth. The scale and growth of a business is generally sitting where, once again, you believe subconsciously you are capping out at from a personal growth perspective.
Like I said, this is not mumbo-jumbo. This is tried and tested, time and time again. Your business is always a reflection of you. It's a concept called the mirror. In essence, when you look in the mirror and you look at your business, it is always a direct reflection of you. If you are lazy, your business will be lazy. If you are a bad client to your mentors, coaches, you'll get bad clients. If you don't pay on time, none of your clients will pay on time. If you cancel your credit cards to try and get out of the contracts or programmes, or whatever it might be, or that sort of thing, you'll get clients and you'll attract clients that do the same to you. If you price haggle and price shop people, you'll generally attract clients who price haggle and price shop you. If you get people who don't listen to you and don't listen to your information, it is because you yourself don't do that within your business to the information, the coaches and so on and so forth, that you have on board.
It is about personal growth. So if you have hit a ceiling in your business, whether that's $1,000, $10,000, $100,000, $1 million a month, it is generally because you have hit a ceiling in your personal growth. Time and time again, like I said, by literally self-diagnosing and looking inwards at yourself, and working on yourself from a personal growth perspective, no other change in your business, generally people will see, then break through that ceiling and go to the next level. Like I said, if you are stagnant in your personal growth, your business will be stagnant.
If you're finding you're getting bad clients, you need to work on yourself. You'll get better clients. If you find you were getting cheap clients, you need to work on yourself. You'll get more expensive or higher paying clients. If you believe you're not charging the right places or you're not charging what you're worth, you need to work on yourself, you need to work on your self-worth, realising your self-worth. Upping your prices, believing in that, and as a result it'll flow out in everything you do and people will be happy to pay those prices as well.
So, a really quick video form me today, but what I wanted to talk about specifically was personal growth and business growth, and how they directly collerate. And the mirror, the mirror concept and how your business is always a mirror image of yourself. If you're finding something is stressing you out or frustrating you, if you're finding that your staff aren't listening to you or they're not motivated, once again, look at yourself. Are you listening? Are you motivated? Do you have energy? Do you have passion? Do you have drive?
So take a couple of minutes after this video. Look at things within your business that you feel are not working as well as they should. Look at things that you feel are becoming problems time and time again. Note those down, and then put the mirror up against yourself and say, "Well, am I the reason why that problem is coming up? Am I doing a similar thing? Do I have a similar problem within my business?" Businesses don't have problems. Generally it is the person who runs the business that has the problem that needs to be fixed
So hopefully that makes sense. Take that time to note down any problems or ceilings that you want to alleviate, and then put the mirror up against yourself and think to yourself, "Okay, those problems. Are they problems because of my view of myself, my actions, the way I go about my business?" Then secondly, that self-realization. Then secondly, and more importantly, is taking the step to improve that. Writing down what you can start doing today to fix those problems within yourself, and then you'll dramatically see that flow over organically into your business and you'll start seeing better results. You'll burst through ceilings, you'll start having growth that you've never had before because once again, you're doing that self within your personal level as well.
That's it from me. Bye for now.
